Renovation :: North Abingdon
The original house had the same footprint as the first house I bought. While I loved the house, the layout was difficult and didn’t have much room for more than 3.5 people. Literally. After having one child it was a choice of moving elsewhere or dealing with what we had at that moment (there was no space for expansion). Fortunately, North Abingdon had a detached garage and space in the back to extend the house. The house went from 2.5 bedrooms/2 baths to 5 bedrooms/4 baths, while keeping the garage intact! It was important to modernize this home while still paying homage to the original style. This home sold for $92k more than the asking price!
